« Nutrivant Plus » application on Malt barley.
“Nutrivant Plus” is recommended to be applied together with pesticides. The recommended concentration of working solution is 1-3%. Rate of application is 4 kg/ha. The volume of working solution for foliar application with “Nutrivant Plus Malt barley” should be not less than 250-300 l/ha. According to scientist’s recommendations, the optimum phases of “Nutrivant Plus Malt barley” application are bushing out and the beginning earring phases.
The chemical formulation of “Nutrivant Plus” fertilizer corresponds completely to the physiological needs of Malt barley. An optimum balance between phosphorus and potassium and the content of zinc promotes accumulation of starch in grains of Malt barley. The result is improvement of the brewing quality parameters and reduction of the content of protein. Boron promotes the germination of pollen-tubes, pollination of ear, outflow of carbohydrates from leaves to generative mass and to growing points of the plants. Thus, the first foliar feeding in a greater degree influences the productivity of the crops, while the second predetermines the main quality indicators demanded in the brewing industry: weight and energy of seeds.
Nitrogen. Nitrogen for Malt barley is applied according to planned productivity and taking into consideration the soil fertility, its рН, the predecessor and other factors. Nitrogen is always recommended to be applied in one step in order to avoid excessive protein accumulation in the grains. “Nutrivant Plus Malt barley” has no nitrogen in its formulation.
Foliar application with “Nutrivant Plus Malt barley”, provides:
- Increase of Malt barley productivity by 0.5-0.6 t/ha, starch content by 3-5%. Improvement quality brewing indicators and decreases protein content by 1-2%,
- Improvement of consumption biogenic elements by plants roots the system from fertilizers and soil;
- Stimulation of biochemical processes and protection of plants against fungi and virus diseases;
- Protection against stress, especially when the crops are treated with pesticides;
- High payback of soil applied fertilizers;
- Decrease the risk of plant bending;
The first foliar application increases the nitrogen consumption coefficient from soil by 20-25 % , leading to maximum development of root system, accumulation of Boron in roots growing points.
Thus, photosynthesis improves, more productive ears are formed and the quantity of grains in each ear increases. Through “Nutrivant Plus” application the doze of nitrogen can be reduced by 10-20 %. The phosphorus and potassium dozes should not be reduced.
The second foliar application adjusts possible deficiency of nutrients, and also allows transforming excessive nitrogen into forms containing no protein. Thus, the plant forms larger grain and the protein content decreases and aspires to “a high-quality minimum”. The second application with “Nutrivant Plus” allows "redirecting" growth of plants from vegetative to generative and to ensure higher productivity with excellent quality parameters including seeding material as well.
In 2007 extensive industrial tests with “Nutrivant Plus Malt barley” have been conducted in Russia and Ukraine. Tests have shown an increase of productivity by 0.4-0.5 t/ha and a decrease of protein by 1, 5 % compared to control fields.
